Throughout life we can experience loss in many ways, may it be loss of a relationship, job or even a loved one.
Grief is not a singular event, it’s a personal and unpredictable process. You might be experiencing feelings or other reactions that you do not recognise as being part of the grieving process.

Common reactions:

  •  Sadness, anxiety, anger, guilt, or relief

  • Loss of appetite or sleep

  • Loss of concentration or interest in daily life

  • Mood swings or depression

  • Thoughts of harming yourself

Grief is a natural response to experiencing any kind of loss and can be displayed in a multitude of ways. In its most intense form, grieving a significant loss can be quite debilitating and is likely to take a toll on your mental wellbeing. Counselling offers a space where you can talk through the negative emotions associated with grief. Whilst you cannot eliminate grieving altogether, counselling can help you develop the tools that enable you to operate from a place of freedom whilst you process your grief.
